Internship Equity Database

Coming Soon...

In early 2022, Lift The Curtain plans to release its internship equity database. This free, publicly accessible resource will provide the industry with a one-stop-shop to research, compare, and comment on theatre internship programs.

Each program will receive an overall rating based on our internship equity standards. This rating criteria is still under development but is expected to be based on three factors: compensation, quality of education, and overall intern experience.

To start this work, we are determining which theatres have internships and gathering basic information on each program’s compensation package. Currently, we are looking to determine the following for each internship program:

  • Average weekly hours

  • College credit option

  • EMC status

  • Weekly pay rate, if any

  • Overtime eligibility

  • Provision of housing

  • Provision of food

  • Local travel accommodations

  • Transportation to/from the program, if relocation is required

  • Tuition requirement

  • Length of contract

Evaluating every theatre is an enormous task! We have 746 theater companies on our list to review and we need your help.
